About the Narrative in Painting
Group Exhibition at Ex Colle Gallery, Ghent

About the Narrative in Painting was symposium followed by a collective exhibition curated by John France and Patrick Verlaak, held at the former Colle Gallery in Ghent. The project brought together painters from LUCA School of Arts (Ghent) and UWE Bristol to explore and discuss the role of narrative in contemporary painting practices. The aiming was to reflect on how art education and institutions can embrace and support narrative approaches in visual arts.

As part of the exhibition, I presented my painting Toblach 2009 — a work that engages with themes of memory, place and narrative through a personal lens.

This event marked the second edition of the symposium; the first had taken place in Bristol. In Ghent, the format expanded to include both a public debate and a curated group exhibition, featuring works from selected students of both institutions.
