RECIPES FOR ACTIONS
One-Day Event at Kunsthall

RECIPES FOR ACTIONS was a vibrant, day-long event hosted at Kunsthall in Ghent organized from the input of artist and researcher Pepa Ivanova. A dynamic gathering filled with performances, activities, film screenings and exhibitions spread throughout the building. I was involved in the organization of the event and also presented three works: two video works (Il Banchiere and Phone-Bar), as well as a collaborative installation created in partnership with artists NINA and Hendrik Depauw.

Together, we designed an interactive corner within the space, an invitation for conversation and spontaneous dialogue. As a prompt for these interactions, we produced a series of postcards featuring photographs of the building, captured with a disposable camera just days before the event. Each postcard paired an image of a specific corner or overlooked space with a short phrase or thought about that location, adding a poetic and reflective touch.

The setup was informal and welcoming: a large table covered in paper, scattered with markers and pens. Visitors could write directly on the paper if they preferred not to use the postcards, allowing for open, free-form expression. The space evolved throughout the day, becoming a living archive of thoughts, reactions, and questions as a extension of the collective atmosphere that defined the entire event.

This project wasn’t just about showing work—it was about creating a space where people could slow down, observe, and engage in conversations sparked by the building itself and its stories.
